SEEING THE VISION

Precision through
integrated design

This project focuses on the development of a maskless lithography machine, a system designed to create precise patterns without relying on traditional physical photomasks

My work focuses on bringing the machine's hardware and software together into a reliable system, with particular attention to embedded control, hardware integration, and testing

OBJECTIVE

Develop and integrate the control, hardware, and software systems required for a functional and reliable maskless lithography platform

BUILDING THE INTERFACE

Turning complex control
into a clear interface

A key part of my contribution was developing the user interface for the maskless lithography machine. The goal was to create a clear and practical way for users to interact with the system and manage its operations

I focused on organizing controls and system information into an interface that supports an intuitive workflow while connecting the software experience with the machine's underlying functions

SIMULATING THE EXPERIENCE

Test/ Observe/
Refine

Before relying on the interface during machine operation, simulation provided a way to evaluate how the UI behaved across different interactions and operating scenarios

This process helped me identify areas that could be improved, validate the interaction flow, and refine the interface before integrating it further with the physical system

THE OUTCOME

Engineering at
the system level

The project gave me hands-on experience developing a complex engineering system where embedded electronics, hardware, and software must operate together

More importantly, it strengthened my understanding of system integration: moving beyond individual components to consider reliability, communication, testing, and overall system behaviour

WHAT I LEARNED

System integration, embedded development, iterative testing, multidisciplinary problem solving, and hardware–software troubleshooting
